Dear Family and Friends:
We love you! We enjoyed visiting with and getting cards from many of you recently. There must have been a blue moon or a leap year or something because we actually made a Christmas letter this year. We hope last year brought each of you joy and that you find more joy in the present year.
Love,
Tyler and Andrea Warren
2015 Warren Family Review
Tyler finished his deployment to Central Command in Tampa Florida in the spring. After a homecoming trip to the beach, He spent the summer training new Air Force officers at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL, and giving his famous “Ownership” speech. In the fall he started at a new position at Gunter Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL- one that did not require 16 hour days. With a more manageable schedule, he was able to finish his first book “Leadership Yourself!” He has also enjoyed continuing his work drawing and selling video game art through RPG Maker.
Andrea is keeping up with the cooking and laundry and helping with school projects while carrying baby #8. She enjoyed a visiting family in Texas and California. We are all excited to welcome a new baby brother in February.
Amanda (13) is enjoying her time in Young Women’s. She is in her 8th grade year at Floyd Middle Magnet School. She is active in FBLA and Science Olympiad. She is also enjoying piano and photography.
Travis (11) earned his Arrow of Light in the spring and started Boy Scouts. He finished elementary school where he earned lots of awards including a debate award. This school year he is homeschooling and especially enjoying learning computer coding on Khan Academy.
Jared (9) earned his Wolf badge in the spring and is close to earning his Bear. He is in his fourth grade year at Forest Avenue- famous for the 80 page (done at home) report called the Alabama Portfolio. He has enjoyed participating in chorus and was chosen by his classmates for student council.
Emma is turning 8 on January 3rd and was excited to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is enjoying the Girl Scout troop she joined with her friends from school and little sister Valerie. She likes to make art of all kinds (a lot) and lifts our spirits with sweet notes and gifts of her art work.
Valerie (6) graduated from preschool in the spring and started kindergarten at Forest Avenue in the fall. She has enjoyed making new friends and improving her handwriting and reading skills. She is also having fun in Girl Scouts, ever full of energy and ready to go.
Aimee (4) is sweet and calm. She is enjoying staying home with Mom, Travis and Sarah. She enjoys her time at the Highland Garden Community Center Mother’s Morning Out (playschool). She is also participating with the HIPPY preschool program as an "access child" for our neighbor who is a HIPPY teacher. She has recently taken an interest in anatomy and enjoys playing with her doctor kit which she cutely calls her “doctor pit.”
Sarah (2) has been growing a lot this year. We were very happy when she reached 20 lbs by her second birthday and could finally turn her car seat forward. She is running, jumping, talking and singing. She is a good helper, the first to put away laundry or set the table. Her favorite things are going to the zoo, reading books and going to the park.
